We regard creativity as the most powerful force, even when it is a matter of economic success. That is why we try to mobilise as much creative energy as we possibly can for our own projects.
We predominantly make use of our personal resources for the purposes of dialogue. Dialogue with local residents and users, opinion-makers and experts, authorities and the media, architects and technicians.
We aim to get the best out of everybody involved. Including ourselves.
The architectural competition for Salzburg and the project werkstadt017 for Graz-Reininghaus demonstrate how we are actually trying to live out this vision.
To build something new in one of the most beautiful old city centers in the world attracts architects of a certain sensitivity. The designs were spectacular and the range of ideas was breathtaking.
The project is being documented in all its details on the project website www.sternbrauerei.at. Since August 2006 the name of the winning architect can be found there.
Traditionally, the development of an urban district begins with lines, densities and building heights: in short, with the best possible distribution of the planning units over the site at one’s disposal. The result: mediocrity off the peg – predictability, imitativeness and interchangeability. Any creation of meaning occurs afterwards – through the intensive use of advertising among the potential customers.
For Graz-Reininghaus we have taken another direction. With the project werkstadt017 an editorial team team was created right at the start of the development process, which examined the concept of what is desirable for a whole new district of the city.
